Winebulance: The Sequel!

Winebulance

Winebulance

Well…..how’s about this! A Winebulance!

So, I stumbled across this image today on The Facebook. The photo is of the “Winebulance” delivery truck from The Selsey Off-License in West Sussex, back in my Motherland (England).

What a genius idea! I wish I’d have thought of it first…..oh wait…I did….

Winebulance

…back in July of 2012 (click here for the original post). Notice my logo in the bottom-left corner.

I thought the idea of a Winebulance was so good that I actually purchased Winebulance.com in July of 2012 (it currently just redirects back to BlogYourWine.com.) In-fact, “Winebulance” wasn’t even a searchable word on Google before my post.

I can’t tell a lie. The fact that someone decided to base a business idea solely off one of my memes is pretty-much blowing my mind right now! But here’s the thing…a million ideas are thought-up every single day. I take minimal credit for someone “borrowing” my Winebulance idea and running with it. I’ve always said that it takes very little to simply THINK of an idea. Where the struggle comes is getting that idea to work!

I wish the fine folks at The Selsey Off-License all the best with their venture! Just remember where you saw it first! :)

People are paranoid about sharing their ideas with others in case some steals it. But very few people have the motivation, skills and funding to take the idea and run with it. So, think of talking about the idea to people as validation of the idea.

seems that the winebulance has gone viral. I’ve just received an image from an email circular about you via various jumps around the UK, lastly from Blackpool!

Hi there, my husband and I were shown your ‘original’ genius concept by a friend on Facebook earlier in the year, we started to call our delivery van the winebulance as a bit of fun at that point just between us and our friends as it seemed such a fun thing. It was just a plain white old banger of a van at that point. We then copied your strap line as it is so good (and very british – Stay Calm etc) Thanks for being so generous and sportsman like in your response to our very own British Winebulance – we have had celebs tweeting and sharing it also. Best wishes Jo

Seriously? Here is America we have been saying this for a decade.. It pairs nicely with Whaaa-bulance for crying/upset kids. The two go together. Glad someone took it to the streets!

No problem at all, Jo! My hits went through the roof for those couple of days! Just happy someone is running with my idea! I’d love to get an original signed photo of The Winebulance for my office! :)

Interesting enough concept that has motivated me to write an article, Kris. But you say that the URL is with you. I see it with this Florida company. A bit confused. Subhash Arora http://www.indianwineacademy.com
